[Hair Fair] 2014

Hair Fair 2014 is about to open, and I've spent all day getting the inside scoop on this year's finds!  I was in hair heaven looking through all the shops and loving this year's trends.  Some of the top trends include braids, tousled waves and epic couture styles.

[Braids&Tails]

No hair wardrobe is complete without the perfect braided 'do.  I have to say Lelutka nailed it this year with their side swept plaits.  Another front runner was the pigtail braids from Tram.  A new to me brand, elua, really impressed me with their low ponytail.

[Streetwear&Rainbows]

I loved all the rainbow hues available this year! Tons of options and people really are pushing the envelope with color theory and hair texturing.  I did a bit of mix&match dye job with Lamb since this style is in 2 parts. And you MUST pick up the FREEBIE from (red)Mint.

[Long&Flowey]

One can never have too many long and flowey straight styles and the ones from LoQ'ue, Lamb and Mina are beyond heavenly.  I really loved their natural tones and the loose slightly tousled style.

[Couture&Golden]

The cherry on top this year for me was the really adventurous couture hairstyles.  I fell in LOVE with the geisha-esque style from [sYs], the fans are color change and I must have spent an hour playing with all of the options.  Another winner of course was the amazing couture collection from Miamai, I could have blown my entire budget just in their shop.  Lelutka also won out with their frizzy-wide look. It will a perfect topper to edge out any look.

SHOETOPIA 2013 opens to the public November 15, 2013. This event is guaranteed to make even the most reluctant shopper go crazy.  You'll be able to take a walk in the clouds while shopping in 'shoe heaven.'  Hope they will be accepting bad girls this year because shoes are my addiction and I'm ready to go on a binge!!

SHOETOPIA 2013, The long awaited return of the 'premiere shoe event' in Second Life is set to open on Friday, November 15th, 2013.

November 12, 2013 — Announced way back in January of this year, SHOETOPIA is the reincarnation of the most popular footwear event in Second Life, SHOE FAIR, which has been missing in action since June 2011. Now, almost 10 months since it was announced, SHOETOPIA 2013 is set to open on the 15th of this month with an ethereal build by Artist Rebeca Bashly, that promises to have you in Shoe Heaven! Excited designers and shoe lovers alike, have delighted at the promise of a 'New Kind of Shoe Fair', and the anticipation has been building steadily as opening day draws closer.

Conceived by long time Event Coordinators, Business Managers and Second Life Fashion Bloggers, Sophia Harlow and Anessa Stine, SHOETOPIA is their first collaborative effort combining a mutual love of fashion, respect for ingenuity and quality, and desire to create a memorable and special annual event to fill the void in the Second Life event calendar created when SHOE FAIR failed to take place in 2012. Says Sophia, "When the thought dawned on me that there needed to be a footwear event in Second Life again, there was only one person that I approached. Anessa has always been a 'Shoe Girl', and her creative vision was the perfect compliment to my detail oriented planning skills and excellent relationships with many SL Creators." Both Sophia and Anessa are thankful to the many volunteers who are dedicated to making this event a success.

Carrying on the tradition of it predecessor, SHOETOPIA has selected the charity organization Soles4Souls as its 'Sole' beneficiary. This is a charity that touches all shoe lovers, an organization that not only supports those in need domestically, in North America, but also those met with disaster around the world. Says Anessa, "An organization that puts shoes on the feet of underprivileged children so they can attend schools, allows domestic abuse victims to have a second chance at entering the workforce in style, creates jobs in the most needy of communities, and uses the slogan 'every shoe deserves a Second Life', it could not be a more worthy or appropriate organization to benefit from all of our efforts." The timing of SHOETOPIA could not be more advantageous to Soles4Souls, already hard at work preparing to assist those affected by the recent storms in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, each participating designer will be offering up an item that will see 100% of its proceeds go directly to Soles4Souls.

With more than 50 of Second Life's most talented footwear designers, and dozens of incredible contributing gacha designers, there will something for everyone on this stroll through the clouds. Major Sponsors; Slink, Gos Boutique, Just Design and LaRoo, and additional sponsors; ISON, KOSH, lassitude & ennui, House of London, KoiKoi, fri.day, sYs, House of Fox, Glam Affair, G Field, Valiant and ViveNine/Ryvolter, will all be releasing new items at SHOETOPIA, as will each and every one of the participants. Says Anessa, "The response from designers has been so positive, we are overwhelmed by the quality of the footwear at this event."

I really fell in love with a few hairs one being an amazing FREEBIE from Emotions, the color options of ISON, and the collection of edgy shaved styles from Adoness.  With all of the really fabulous releases, it was hard to choose. So, I'm really just hitting the highlights here.  If anyone leaves Hair Fair with a linden to their name, I'll be shocked!

Happy Anniversary to [sYs]

Today marks a special day in SL! It's the 3rd Anniversary of [sYs] made up of  the wonderful sisterly design duo Syane and Systi Cisse. To mark this momentous occasion, the sisters have released a full album of music to share.  The brilliantly talented Dantelicia Ethaniel brought the music to life with her imagery and style.

[Isis] for FFL

Fashion For Life 2013 begins March 9th and this year's contributing designers have really wowed us all with their amazing designs!  You'll be a kid in a candy store with the unique fashions and great buys all benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

The [sYs] design duo of Syane and Systi Cisse put together a cyber-futuristic version of the goddess Isis. The look includes the new Cleo hair, Naomi skin with dynamic make-up with cyber chin jewel that would make even Ramses jealous.   Of course the stunner is a fitted latex gown with animated lights in hieroglyphics.  It was most difficult to capture the lights in a photo, you'll have to take my word for it's fabulousness!

I love how the sisters take real life fashion inspirations and make it their own!  Check out the Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2004 collection from John Galliano for more.

FASHION FOR LIFE 2013 opens to the public at 12pm SLT on March 9th and runs for a whole week.

Yesterday [sYs] launched the It's My Style PhotoCONTEST!  It should be a great way for all people to share their own personal style.  The prizes are pretty wow too! You can be their featured model in upcoming advertisement marketed in a major magazine, added to the the Blogger pool and of course some hefty gift-card prizes! This contest is for singles, couples, groups, male, female, FURRY! Have fun!

We  all love to showcase what makes us unique, so why not show off a little?  I had my buddy Taylor Wassep join me today for a quick post. We're both wearing our fav Opera jeans from [sYs] with a few of their great accessories.

I'm totally excited for the new mainstore opening event that [sYs] is throwing this weekend.  Systi and Syane Cisse, the lovely sisters behind the [sYs] fashion house have been working for months getting the new store together. I've got a couple of sneak peek photos for you here.

The sim is filled with great places to shoot, you can find inspirations for cyber chic to cool modern with a few steps. I had fun playing on the sim! It's closed ATM but will open to the public 1.13.13 with great music by DJ L3to and DJ Phoe!  You'll find new releases, exclusive sales and wonderful gifts for all!

I'm still in love with the Tee*fy Radios at The ARCADE. Retro fabulousness! Today mine is pumping out vintage punk/ska... "Sound system going to bring me back up, it's the one thing I can depend on!!" - 'Sound System' by Operation Ivy

 Monso released the most amazing new combat boots for Collabor88, and I happily danced around with all the newness. The red leather is perfect to make any outfit pop. With versions for men and women, they're sure to make the masses very happy!

Don't forget to stop by Limited Bazaar at Euphoria this weekend before the limited edition pieces disappear. I really loved this tie tank from CIA. Simply awesome!  Oh and don't forget the With Love Hunt!! It's one of my favorite yearly traditions in SL, and at 10L this Kazakh hat from [sYs] is a mesh marvel!

Another great find at Collabor88 is the new Loire hair from Tableau Vivant. I'm really loving this long flowy style.  I'm not usually a long hair fan but these are very well made, with layered pieces over top of each other but still a straight style with body.

Crisis in the Horn of Africa:
Drought in the Horn of Africa, coupled with conflict in Somalia, has affected over 13 million people.
Thousands of children, women and men are dieing everyday as a result of starvation.
The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is at the forefront of dealing with this crisis and is mounting food operations in five countries in the region (Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya and Uganda).
It is our goal to raise awareness and money for this incredible crisis that has not had the kind of attention other human tragedies have garnered to date.
All in-world donations will be made to a special avatar, "HornOfAfricaCrisis Resident," who’s sole purpose is to receive in-world donations and turn them over to the WFP. The WFP has a Paypal account as does this Avatar. All SL transactions and all Paypal transactions will be published on a blog for all to view.
