My wanderlust in SL continues... today to show off this amazing dress from HUCCI! It's modern, chic and avant garde. A bold statement for any fashionista.
I've had it in my closet so to speak for a long time, just waiting for the perfect inspiration. The Club Zain SIM is modern and unique with just enough edge for an editorial shoot.
Happy Adventuring!

Happy New Year everyone!! No, this isn't another party celebrating bring in the cheer post. I have been spending a lot more time in SL exploring and I keep feeling that wanderlust set in. I jumped off my platform and went adventuring to Lost World.
It's a wonderful sim filled with gothic ruins. I had fun roaming around the sim. It's a great place for photos. So throw on some cute wanderwear and get off your platform.
I'm wearing a cute little tattered sweater from Ladies Who Lunch - it's a mesh and sculpt mix that's perfect for the medieval sex kitten. Who's ready for some pillaging fun?

[Geisha] House
Exploring SL is one of my favorite things to do! We have this gigantic world full of amazing SIMS. Today I found myself among the Geisha Houses, and I couldn't help but feel inspired. Read more for SLURL and styling info!
Collabor88 for December had tons of great finds, including this little Japanese dress. I'm wearing here as a shirt over my leggings from Hucci and accented with a great belt from GizzA. Taketomi just released this amazing new bob! The dipdye set is a great buy because it includes basic subtle dips and this fun blonde/red one.
I had so much fun styling and traveling today! Hope you will check out the sim and share your photos!
Happy Exploring!

[Shadow] of Your Heart
A falling star fell from your heart
And landed in my eyes
I screamed aloud, as it tore through them
And now it's left me blind
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart
And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat... [FW]

[Urban] Chic
I adore Giz Seorn to infinity and beyond! She is the sweetest person and a fabulous designer, who along with her partner Auster, make the best couple in SL. GizzA is chock full of amazing creations from casual to couture. There truly is something for everyone - men and women alike! As one of her "HEROES", I feel everyday like a kid at Christmas from her generosity. Honestly, I don't think I could ever really show her how appreciative I am for all she does for me, her friends and her group. So, here I am today trying to show off her amazing mesh tube dress and clutch!
Mesh really is just fabulous! I love that I can try pretty much any pose and it holds the correct shape. I love the detailing and textures that have more life with the platform. The entire look is mesh except for the hair from Lelutka (it's one of my favs!).
The MOLiCHiNO fur collar is on my must-have accessory list for this fall. It's like the perfect fashion pop to any outfit. Aurelia did a fabulous job with this collar and I do hope she releases MORE colors. HINT HINT!
I'm still loving the Faith skin from [PXL]. It's really well made and a much softer version of his traditional skins. He has done a great job putting out the skins too for purchase, you have numerous options for eyes and lips to add to your package. Plus the base skin comes with a freckle options, which I'm so happy for because I don't have to use one of my valuable tattoo layers.
I do love the poses from Slouch by Eira Juliesse!! Her poses are very editorial and perfect for runway or photography. She's currently just on Marketplace until she builds stock to open her inworld location. Stay tuned, because great things are coming from her!
Happy shopping everyone!!

[Garbo]
Movie star chic is the mood for today's style. Something about a top hat with some black and white, that makes any woman feel like they just stepped off the silver screen. It's powerful and sharp!
This sexy number is one of the latest releases from Indyra Originals called Garbo. Full of vintage style and sass, it's a must have for your collection. I love that Indyra mixed mesh with prims flawlessly! Of course the new SLink Mesh Hands are just amazing and make any photograph a breeze to edit because the hands look so terrific. I don't condone smoking, but one just looks so chic with the elegant cigarette holder from The Sea Hole. (No one's health was harmed in the shooting of this blog!)
If you don't have the studio staple, Model Chair from Diesel Works... What are you waiting for? It has 23 poses and a great addition for anyone who blogs. Poses range from classy to seductress. Rogan Diesel's shop is plum full of great poses and collections for any blogger or photographer. I love that he's always updating and adding new collections.
Even with a little classic ones needs a bit of drama! Kungler's jewelry is always a great statement piece. The nightbloom collection is an exceptional chic look for any jewelry buff!
On my toes, the epitome of classic chic...the Zoe Monochrome Platforms from NX-Nardcotix. Nardya outdid herself with these oxfords! She has extended the line with more color options but I've also been in love with the classic, B/W.

Kasabian Beck is back from the dead and SL should be shaking in their boots. He's here to take the art and music world by storm. Poperations 2.0 is open with a new series featuring a voyeuristic look into a "Sunday Alone". The series can be see now in-world on the Wandering Spirits sim.
Working with Kas was a great bit of fun, he works very spontaneously and its a really organic process. He randomly IMs me after my good friend Kali Meads suggested me as a model. He brought me over to his studio and showed off the Polaroid series he was working on...let me just say I was AMAZED. Of course, I agreed to participate! He asked me to pop on some black lingerie and asked me go through my own poses. I mostly heard, "next, next, NO, next...STAY!" He walked around fluidly to find the perfect angle. He asked for a few wardrobe changes and more poses. It all happened so fast and then he was done. A few hours later, he's showing me the work he'd completed. It was the seventh piece in his Polaroid series.
The very next day, I get a texture from Kas and its completely different. He says that he's been inspired. A taxi cab is sent for me and I arrive in Poperations 2.0 and my jaw just drops. Its this entire gallery of raw, erotic, and devastating works entitled Sunday Alone. Kasabian showed me this video by Death Cab for Cutie - What Sarah Said. "Love is watching someone die...so who's going to watch you die?"
In Kasabian Beck's words, "I wanted the series to be about someones first Sunday alone after a long breakup..what the feeling is like when you wake up in an empty bed, stare at yourself in the mirror alone for the first time after say a couple years. Its a very intimate, yet distant place. Sure you take comfort in say listening to the music you want, but what's the point if you don't have someone there you love to share it." He continued by saying, "Its like you depend on someone for so long that you wonder what to do with yourself now that you're sure you made the right decision, but you're still alone in the end."
Sadly, Kas doesn't post any work online. He must be the last person in SL without a Flickr or Koinup. ;) After a bit of prodding, Kas was kind enough to watermark a few of the pieces so I could promote the series on Flickr and on my blog. Thank you Kas! I've given you a little taste of the series, hopefully this motivates you to see more. Please check out series in-world before it retires.

One of my very first connections in Second Life© was with Kali Meads, this amazing photographer/artist/builder/gallery owner/ curator/sim owner/awesome friend. She was so down-to-earth and approachable, as a noobie I must have been annoying. /me cringes at the memory of Kali watching her "build." Over the last few months I've jumped even further into my career in fashion, but we still keep in touch and work together pretty often. Some of you may recognize her name from the premiere edition of Captured©. There was a featured focus on Kali and Neat Tricks with a collaboration of poses created by Dove Swanson of Long Awkward Pose.

Visit the Wandering Spirits sim and jump into a surreal 1950's world. Watch out for the giant robot, as he's got pretty good aim. The gallery is free and supported by donations from the public, so if you like what you see, please donate a few lindens. Visit the SIM and see SL© artists such as Cala Rossini, Maded Shepherd, Nedeko Kohime, Raul Crimson, and even Miss Kali Meads in the Gallery. If you haven't been to Wandering Spirits, you must check it out now.
Walk across the street and you will find Kasabian Beck's gallery, Poperations 2.0. He is back from the virtual dead folks! Kali was kind enough to recommend me to Kasabian as a model for his upcoming Polaroid series. He randomly IMs me to come down and shoot for that series. The next day Kas shows me his final work and to my surprise, SIX pieces were created as a stand alone collection entitled Sunday Alone. You can see the ENTIRE series now in-world at Poperations 2.0.

The reward for solving the mystery...the ability to enter a photography competition. Second prize is 2,000 Lindens and a free place to stay at Bellecere Estates furnished by Ladydesire Benoir of Bellecere Estates. Second prize will be voted on by the public the last week of November (one vote per avatar). Contest Time

One of my favorite activities in SL, besides shopping is checking out the contest scene. Its great fun, you meet people, and gain exposure in the fashion industry. I'm not contest crazy as I may enter one per month, but I've had some luck with them (/me gratuituously plugs her May JCNY title win). Its exciting to put looks together for a contest - because you get another excuse to shop and take pictures. Give me a V-A-I-N! :P
Finding out about the contests is pretty tricky, sometimes I hear from friends or group notices. But, the best group is Contest Central. You get weekly updates, and you can pick and choose which contests work best for you.
One poor little contest note card sat idly in my inventory until yesterday when I got "give me a project bug." Bianca Foulon is a well-known designer in SL for her inventive creations and wannabe ad campaign seen in many in-world publications. Some contests require you submit pictures in-world via note card or folder, while others ask you to post pictures on Flickr or Koinup. The BiancaF contest is featured on Flickr. The rules for this contest stipulated that you all clothing, shoes, accessories and skin be from Bianca F.
After visiting the store and getting a feel for BiancaF's new campaign, I settled into buying a few items to complete my look. I TP'd to my roof studio faster than you could blink and turned up my iTunes. A classic Bjork song "Army of Me" really inspired me to capture a fierce look oozing with intensity. It couldn't have come out better for me - the styling evolved as the shoot progressed. I guess some days you get lucky! Even if I don't win this competition, I had oodles of fun working on it and the response was terrific.
The flagship BiancaF store is on the Velvet sim and one of my favorite shopping haunts (FTV, DPS, Vain, Bax Coen, Mimiriki all have stores here). Check out the store and give the August contest a go! You have nothing to lose!

Less Than Three <3

Those who check my Flickr will have seen these pics already, but I had to blog about the fabulousness that is Less Than Three (can't do the love symbol darn HTML). Keep in mind that these pics are taken in-world with ZERO photoshop or any editing at all - I only dragged and dropped them into the Comic Life application for layout only. And, a caveat - yes I am friends with Nykki (love LOVE LOVE her), but these skins are some of my favorites so I would have blogged these anyway. So, there.
If you are into unique make-ups to mix up your look or add umph to that photo shoot, then you must stop by Less Than Three right now! Do not pass Go or collect $200 lindens. If you are a skin whore raise your hand. /me raises both
Now that its settled! You must add some fun to your look! The Scene Couture and Circus skin lines will some major WOW to your collection. Both are heavily modified Eloh skins, but the make-up is top notch. They both come in four skins tones, pale, light, tan, and dark. Each tone has different make-up colorings, so of course I wear the entire palette. You have to mix up it up baby!
Onto my favorite skins...the new Glam line is INSANE!! Beautiful Lie and Desu Paireetsu are the dramatic make-ups from that collection. These skins are a combination of photo-source and hand drawing - from Nykki's own hand. It took her months to create the skin, and she is constantly doing new make-ups. In fact she has already modified the Glam line is now on her second edition (damn her quickness). The two above were group gifties. Stay tuned I'll be blogging the new ones very soon!!
